It is very sad to tell that a famous Nigerian singer and actress, Onyeka Onwenu, has died. She was 72.
Onwenu died on Tuesday night, July 30, 2024. This happened at Reddington Hospital in Lagos. She fell down when she was at a birthday party for Mrs. Stella Okoli. An eyewitness at the party told TheNiche what happened.
"It is very sad. Onyeka Onwenu just sang at Mrs. Stella Okoli’s birthday today (Tuesday). After she sang, she fell down. They took her to Reddington Hospital, but she did not get better," they said.
The family of Onwenu has not said anything about her death yet.
Onwenu is known for her music albums like "In The Morning Light" and "Dancing In The Sun." She also acted in movies like "Half of a Yellow Sun" and "Lionheart."
Many people are very sad about this news and are sending their thoughts to her family.
